From India, Chai (pronounced like "pie") is a spiced milk tea that is becoming increasingly popular throughout the world. It is generally made up of:
• rich black tea
• a combination of various spices
• a sweetener
• heavy milk
The most common spices used are cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and
pepper, but may vary from region to region and among households in India.
Chai has been known to produce a warm, soothing effect, and act as a natural
digestive aid and gives one a wonderful sense of well being. It's difficult
to resist a second cup.
